Applicants from the ages of 18 to 54 must submit language proficiency proof showing their ability to communicate well in the official languages.

In other to prove their language proficiency applicants must submit the following documents:

  • A diploma or Transcripts from either a secondary school, post-secondary school in any of the Canadian official languages either English or French.
  • Results from a recognized or approved third party.
  • Evidence of obtaining a Canadian Level Benchmark(CLB)or higher in any certain government language program.

Note that Applicants from the age of 18-54 years who are unable to prove their language proficiency in the official languages of Canada(English and French)due  to a medical condition  must do the following:

  • Must submit supporting evidence with your application.
  • Must provide photocopies of an Audiogram given by a Canadian audiologist if an applicant is hearing impaired.
  • Evidence from a Canadian medical practitioner if you have a psychiatric or cognitive disorder.

3. Applicants Shouldn’t Have A Restrictive Criminal Record: This is another requirement for Canadian citizenship an applicant must not have any prohibitive criminal record. Any applicant with such a record is most likely to be denied approval for Canadian citizenship.

4. Knowledge Of Canada: This is a basic requirement for Canadian citizenship as an applicant must know the basic knowledge of Canada such as Canada’s geography, history, political system, etc.

5. Must Be Aware Of Basic Rights: An applicant must know about the basic Canadian rights and responsibilities of a citizen such as the right to vote, Canadian election.

6.
